Bowing are your Bread and Butter!
The sevcik bowing book is a staple for the violinist; however too many violists never encounter this bowing anthology. There is nothing better out there to teach how to get a rich beautiful tone and to learn much used orchestral bowings. Teachers unfamiliar with this method shoud be prepared to analyze why a bowing isn't working with a student.( wrist position, bow speed, bow pressure, division of bow, point of balance of bow) The book does not explaine when to use these terms, but the acomplished string teacher will know when to apply them. It can be tediously layed out but, in 25 years of teaching; there is nothing more amazing than a student who is thrilled to have accomplished a difficult bowing passage! Book 2 takes this to the upper postions and a different meter. I highly recomend both!!! (older additions are combined)
