      Difficult to play but worthwhile

      Just about anything written by Dave Brubek is first rate, and this collection certainly fits the bill. The pieces are not easy to play, however, and the tonalities can be unusual in places - the mark of Dave Brubek.

      Christmas Brubeck Style

      Most Christmas selections in the collection are familiar to the listener, some are new. The piano pieces are linked by similiar characteristics. I like each piano piece in a collection to have a different styling. These pieces do not give that feeling of "fresh air".
