engaging finger exercises
My teacher asked me to get this book. He promises that diligent study will reward me with additional finger strength and dexterity. Seems to be working. The exercises are more mentally engaging than Hanon, which is good. They're not pretty tunes, but I guess they're not meant to be.

Czerny had opus' into the 600's. The dude was a machine. Just remember to use good technique and never play a note without a musical intention and these exercises will improve your playing and sight reading. Czerny was a pupil of Beethoven and an instructor of Liszt, so you will...
