Scaramouche is simply an amazing piece. The first movement, Vif, is very technically challenging. The second movement, Modere, is simply a beautiful ballad-like piece. Most fun I've ever had with a saxophone!
I kick myself for not having known about this piece while I was still competing in solo contests in high school! An advanced high-school player should be able play this, most college sax majors WILL eventually play this, and all the best classical sax players in the world have recorded...
