Balck Sabbath: Geezer Butler: Riff by Riff
"Black Sabbath:Riff By Riff" for bass guitar gives some great insight into the playing style and thundering bass licks of the legendary Geezer Butler. I bought the book for my 13 yr old son and he has found its combination of notation and tablature clear and concise with helpful hints for the beginner on everything from Geezer's finger technique to various tunings for different songs. Seasoned musicians have commented on the accuracy of the transcriptions and I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in exploring the dark side of rock'n'roll bass playing. While some might be disappointed that there are mainly partial song transcriptions (as opposed to complete songs) I find this to be an excellent feature as it encourages the beginner player to explore the rest of the song on his / her own after giving them a firm platform from which to start. The bonus photo of Geezer in his sartorial splendour at California Jam 1974 is worth the purchase price !!!!

Uhhh.... k....
Good style and playing notes, but it would be nice if it had all of the song... that really angered me when I first started learning to play... The hardest parts are tabbed of though...

fairly accurate
Decent job, only 3 or 4 songs are complete. Good info on finger positioning of "Geeser" and good tuning info.
