AMAZING!

First of all I would like to take a moment to say that it's been 22 years since Cliff Burtion died and his bass parts in this song still kick ass! With that said, I'll like to say that, to me THIS is the best Metallica album, EVER. This tab book has really helped me in learning classics, like "Fade to Black" and "Fight Fire With Fire", as they are also my favourite songs from this album.

If it works for you..

First of all this book is full of minor mistakes as are all the metallica tab books. BEWARE!!!!! Cherry lane sucks! Hal Leonard is the only accurate publishing company, and even they make mistakes from time to time.

Pretty accurate tab

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a review about the tab book, not what you think about the band. It is very well tabbed, I was actually expecting a lot worse of a job on the solos. Also, I would love to see a begginer accurately play the ride the lightning solo.... This is not a begginer book.

great album...although.......

well this is one of metallica's best albums. the early days when they used to make good music... only besides for some good intro solos, kirk as usual beeing sloppy with a toy sound and style that doesnt put up with beeing satriani's student. hetfield doing a nice job(not as good as on "master of puppets" but yet good). too bad they ripped stuff off of mustaine. but then maybe it wouldnt be such a great album otherwise. the sheet book itselfs isnt so clear and written in a confusing way, the lyrics are all mixed up and it seems they tried real hard to save pages....go figure.

Good Book

This is an awesome book with the tablature dead on, but I wish they didn't steal so many songs from Dave Mustaine.

Ride the Lightning

Though it pales next to "Master of Puppetts," this is a very good guitar album. The complex song structures and super-fast rhythm guitar are both excellent. "Fade to Black" and "Call of Ktulu" are particularly awesome, and there are a few other classics here. However, I have mixed feelings about Kirk Hammett's lead guitar. While learning Metallica solos did wonders for my speed and endurance, I've grown to hate their stiff-yet-sloppy sound, lack of creative techniques, incessant reliance upon rehashed garbage licks, and mindless scale climbing. There are only a few of his solos I still like, such as "Fade to Black."

Good things, small packages

Though there is only 8 songs, you get some real classics. Fade to black is sheer excellence and Creeping Death paved the way for similar songs such as Master of Puppetts, with its heavy super fast downstroke rhythm. Kirk's solos are tough but not impossible, making this one to look at. you will learn to play some of Metallica's greatest songs.

Ripping Guitars and pounding drums

The second album from Metallica is a great album that features fast guitar work with some very cool acoustic riffs (Fight Fire with Fire intro, Fade to Black, and Call of Ktulu) Cliff really puts his imput on this album with the classical feel of Ktulu and Fight Fire with Fire, and Kirk's solo work is even more melodic and impressive than the first album after a lesson with Joe Satriani. You can learn these songs easily too with this book. Easy to read and fun to learn. I highly recommend this book and well, all of them. Check out all my reviews. I love em. Great learning tool for a great band.
