A lesson book kids love
This book has songs that most kids have heard, e.g.Yankee Doodle. I use it with my students who are just beginning to read notes. The songs are all in middle C position. We write in the name of the notes at first and then gradually have less and less "crutches." The children enjoy playing a song that other people recognize.

Great sightreading tool!
Children like the songs in this book and enjoy playing them either alone or with the duet accompaniment provided. Could be used as a beginning sightreading book (Middle C orientation), or after completing a beginning theory book, such as the John Thompson Notespeller.
