Piano Solos
Great variety of songs. I would have preferred more popular songs and less classical. Arrangements are somewhat challenging for the intermediate pianist.

Piano Solos for All Occasions
Good variety in selection of titles and level of difficulty. Some are easy read and others take some practice. Having a good time with this book.

Piano Solos for All Occasions
Like any collection, there are some songs I'll play and enjoy. Some of the songs I already had, either in other piano books or sheet music, with arrangements I liked better. Too much single note right hand and unreachable arpeggio left. Some songs I just don't care for.

Great piano music
Love the variety of compositions that this book offers. If you love classics or jazz or Latin music it's all in this book.

Wide Variety
Good selection from many modern genres - most familiar, some less so. For the size of this book, there is an excellent cross section - jazz/blues selections are great - and arrangements are easy to tackle, but satisfying. Wish there were lyrics (but the website information is clear that lyrics are not included).

Piano Solos for All Occasions
This book certainly lives up to its title; A really broad range from Clasical to Jazz! And the arrangements are very pleasant, just enough contemporary chording to make the pieces sound fresh and new. But not so much that audiences have trouble identifying the songs. I do wish that some of the pieces had offered a bit more complexity than they did. But overall, this is a book that can stand on its own as a library of solid piano solos.

Very basic arrangements
While I enjoyed the variety of music included, the depth of the music was lacking. I enjoy a strong baseline, not a one or two note line to accompany the melody as a lot of these pieces had - so this may just be a personal like/dislike. While it is very simple to sit down and play a tune, I find that this is ending up at the bottom of the pile and has not gotten much play since the first few pass throughs. While not an advanced player, I do enjoy a "stretch" on the basic melody and this book just didn't fit the bill.

Great composer
I have several books composed by Dan Coates and have never been disappointed. His arrangements are full and sound great on the piano.

This book had all the genres that I love: blues, jazz, latin, classical, musical, movies, pop... It was a great buy!

Just ok
Nice collection of a variety of songs. "Edelweiss" has a particularly beautiful, haunting beginning...until it changes from B to A flat and then it takes off into the unknown stratisphere with odd upper register runs. No chord notations above the measures in the whole book. There are some enjoyable arrangements in this book...but all in all, not one of my favorite purchases.

Unusual, Lack Luster Collection
I only liked a few of the arrangements. It's an unusual compilation but some of the pieces were interesting. It's not my favorite collection, but I always crave new and different piano music.

I'm truly enjoying this addition to my music library
I really like the diversity of this book. I've played mostly classical and longed for the ability to play jazz and blues. The songs in this book are giving me a great introduction, especially the Duke Ellington numbers. The arrangements are simple, yet sound more difficult. I also like the new age pieces. The wedding arrangements are nice and could be easily adapted to organ. Overall, the book is most enjoyable and well worth the money!

I'm enjoying playing again
The only music I had to play was a few folk songs and some hymns. I absolutely love to sit down and play these beautiful tunes. I'm excited to be playing piano regularly again. The only reason I gave the book 4 stars was because I wish the words were written in the book. I'm glad to have discovered Sheet Music Plus.

Outstanding Arrangements!
I absolutely love the music in this book! I own a whole lot of piano books, but this is by far my favorite. I spend a whole lot of time enjoying playing pieces from this book, rather than arrangements from my other books.

Just for Fun
I ordered two copies of this book. One was for myself and the other for my son. They are not difficult to play, but are just pure enjoyment. They are familiar titles and we are both enjoying playing them.

One of the best piano books you'll ever own!
This was a spur of the moment purchase for me, but I'm so glad I bought it! I had a great time playing through all the pieces that are included in this book. There were several that I did not know, but even the ones I did know had new arrangements that were beautiful. I have thoroughly enjoyed the book and will use it often in the future.

Excellent
This collection has standard piano solo arrangements that are pretty easy to play and sound beautiful. The arrangements have jazzy introductions, fills and conclusions. Plenty of easy arpeggios in the left hand. The melody moves up and down an octave, usually adding more parts of the chord here or there, along with simple, straightforward changes in tempo and volume. Nothing esoteric; everything readily comprehensible. This big book is a lot of bang for the buck.

Piano Solos for all occasions
It was great to get some different pieces of music. I especially liked the Latin segment which I haven't had before. The bossa nova songs were mostly written by Carlos Jobim and are all familiar and good. This book does offer a wide variety of types of music for the soloist. Enjoy

Unusual Harmonies
Most of these pieces are very enjoyable. Many contain unusual harmonies and chord progressions. For me, this makes them more interesting than a lot of the other music I have on my shelf.

piano solos falls short of my expectations
The sheet music is beyond my level of competence, since I am at the lower rungs of intermediate. After playing Irving Berlin's music and other sheet music books, I will only order the composer's book of piano songs, as someone else's rendition often is not true to the original.

Nice Variety
Provides a nice variety in difficulty and styles. I particularly like that it has songs easy enough to sit down and play right through, and yet also contains pieces complicated enough to inspire trying new things. Very enjoyable!

Pleased with the mix
I liked the mix of songs and the level of difficulty varied somewhat, but I could get by on most of them. I'm probably not an "Intermediate level player at this point.

Definitely for All Occasions
This is a very enjoyable selection of works that are definitely for all occasions. It includes selections from Broadway, classical, jazz and blues, latin, wedding music, music from movies, New Age, pop;rock, standards and some miscellaneous. It is a book that you can pick up and play for your enjoyment.

No chord notations
Your example #3 Edleweis is very very elementary and lacks any Chord notations not giving the piano player any options of embelishing on his own. What a disappointment to expect notation and find out after purchasing. No need to contact me, just take heed of what is expected.

Good book, variety of styles
Quite a good book, although nothing is noted about who arranged the pieces. Quite a good variety of different styles, something for everyone. Many were played without too much practice, although some require a little more effort. Quite worthwhile.

Very diverse
I bought this book to explore different styles of music. I mostly played either classical or new age, but this book has those as well as pop, broadway, movie music, jazz, blues, and traditional. There is something to play for every occassion and any mood you might be in. The songs are easy to play for anyone who is upper beginning to early intermediate. Highly reccommend!

Just fun to play
Fun to just sit down and play. Not too tough and still sounds good. Most everyone can find something they like. I am glad it is in my music library.

good resource, arrangements just ok
If you are accustomed to the quality of arrangements such as Tom Roed, Dan Coates, or especially Mark Hayes, you'll be disappointed. This is certainly a worthwhile book as a resource, but the arrangments are mostly pretty ordinary and even somewhat empty.

No arranger(s) mentioned
This book looks like a good book, but one of the off-putting features is that Hal Leonard refuses to tell who the arranger (or arrangers)are of these pieces. When I purchase music, especially on line without getting to see the music, I want to know who arranged it, because different arrangers have such different styles, some of whom I like much better than others. So I guess I will pass of this one. I wish Hal Leonard would not be so secretive. They should give credit to their arrangers. It is really poor of them, in my opinion, not to do so.

Great for Any Piano Player
I recieved this book as a gift on my fourteenth birthday. I had only been playing for about two years, but I picked up a lot of stuff quickly. My favorite is Just the Way You Are, but I like almost everything else I have learned so far. It's a huge book, and has plenty of songs to play at varying skill levels. If you would like to explore new genres of music, or just have a broad collection at your fingertips, then buy this book.
