Good works, disappointing edition
Satie is a precursor composer of modern period (he was born in 1899). He has influenced Debussy, Ravel Stranvinsky and others. His music is really accessible and the results are really gratifying. But this edition is not at all the best. The book is very thick, so it often falls on the hands of the player and the pages turn themselves. I have already tried to put clothes pins on the pages but this problem is always here. There is only a small introduction and rares comments of execution. Sometimes, we can see an extract of the autograph manuscript of a work, a photo, a picture or an extract of a Satie's letter. The legibility is low because some pieces were written long ago and have not been rewritten. It misses important pieces of Satie ("Croquis et agaçeries d'un gros bonhomme en bois" and "Embryons desséchés", etc...). Despite all these problems, it is always pleasant to play a Satie work...

Great music, poor typsetting
This is a great collection of music! I am very disappointed that the binding and especially typsetting is so poor.

For Study Purposes Only - Not Performance Oriented
This album is really meant as a study reference, not for performance. There are no fingerings, the typesetting / printing is out of date and the book binding makes it impossible to play from at the piano. If you want a piano performance book, get Schirmer's Prostakoff versions. However, if you want to study Satie's piano works, this makes an excellent edition. Most of his piano output is collected here in one volume and at a decent price.

Satie
Piano Album has practically everything composed by Satie. There is no fingering for the pieces so beginners should take heed as with other Impression music, Satie pieces are full of colorful chords which can be hard to learn without proper fingering. As the book is fairly thick, the binding does not help the book to stay on the piano. Ring-binded edition of this book is recommended if it is available. All in all, Satie lovers should be satisfied with the book's robust content. This is definitely a book worth invested. *Don't hesitate to contact me about the book*

Complete Erik Satie
This has the most Erik Satie in one book. I'm from England but you can't get it there so I had to order here from America, so they need to have it available in England which would have saved me buying individual sheet music pieces (or erik satie editions with pieces I already have just for one piece I didn't have). Still there's a few pieces missing, and no english translation of the French or details like when the piece was composed is one some but not others. But it's still got pieces in here I couldn't find anywhere else and it's good to have all in one book, I recommend for Satie fans. [...]

A very complete catalog of Satie's unique music
As stated in the headline, this is a very complete catalog of the beautiful and unique music of Erik Satie. The only problem is keeping the book open while playing which can be easily solved in a number of ways. Wonderful book of music.

great book
this thing is pratically like a tome of satie's works. granted it doesn't have all of the more controversial stuff, (like vexations,) or his works for mutiple pianists, but i don't think that's really a problem. if you read the listing of what it contains you get the idea of what you can get, and if that's what you want, great. the quality and such, of the book, is more than decent. so all this together is pretty nice. as for the music... well it's satie. so you should know what you're getting into.
