Incredible
This series is incredible. Ms. Douvas is quite open about how she disagrees with the titles of the MMO series. Rather than naming them Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, she likes to call them "Encores," "Advanced" and "Professional." The recordings are gems.

A better review.
I have always liked Douvas' tone quality. Very rich and lush. Unlike a more traditional English tone (usually more reedy), and possibly not ideal for baroque style. The value of her instructional approach probably depends on ones own previous teaching but I have found it usful.

Awful Playing
Talking down to your possible customers is not going to sell. Most oboists will have come across the Verroust. Standard of performance really should be improved before making any more recordings. How much rehearsal time? Maybe more might be helpful.
