A "Must-Have"!
As an adult first-year flutist who is also an advanced pianist with a degree in music, I absolutely love this book! These selections do not sound like student arrangements. The piano accompaniments are fresh and intricate, providing an interesting and vibrant background for the flute. The CD is performance-worthy, as well, sounding like a professional pianist playing a grand piano, very musically performed, not metronomic. I would say this collection is an absolute "must have" for every flutist who celebrates Christmas.

Pretty Good, but the CD could be better
The arrangements are beautiful. However, the "learn it" tracks only give you the first minute or so of each song. This is a bummer because the music often becomes more rhythmically and technically complicated toward the middle/end of the song. I'm the kind of player who does best by being able to hear it first (rhythm and articulation wise) and then repeat it, so not being able to hear the whole track played leaves me not able to play a few of the songs in this book because they're just too tough.

O Holy Night
This is absolutely lovely music! I bought the solo flute version with piano accompaniment, and the piano is flawless. I do wish they would have played a little longer on the two song versions that are supposed to fade out.. There's only enough time to barely finish the music as written, no repeating. However, excellent!!!

nice but disappointing
Pretty arrangements. More contemporary than traditional. Easy (as in sight read it) flute parts. Consider what you want to use them for: They all sound more like piano solos with a little flute on top. I was invited to play a flute solo for a local Christmas concert, & can't use any of these. Disappointing.

O Holy Night
I bought this for my son to use in church. The music is beautiful! My disappointment is that the flute part is minimal. The arrangements are more a piano solo with a few flute highlights.

Beautiful arrangements, but . . .
I agree there should be complete demo tracks. I picked up the flute after 35 years and thought this music looked simple! It would have helped me alot if I could've heard the complete piece. Each demo ended before the piece became more difficult, and if you notice, that is how each is arranged - from simple to more challenging. Accompaniment is just glorious!

O Holy Night
These are absolutely beautifully arranged pieces. They are more like piano and flute duets that solo flute works. I hope to see more arranged by these individuals!

WONDERFUL
These are great, and fun to play for family and church and any holiday function. Not sure what one reviewer means about the demos being incomplete, but the composer gave me a copy of the full tracks so I guess that's why I don't know. I will suggest to him that perhaps they should correct this for the future, as all Music Minus One's that I know of have full performances of the pieces.

love this
This collection is great. The arrangements are all REALLY fun. We played them at a family gathering - live flute and live electric bass playing to the CD. It was a BIG HIT with everyone. I'd love Kathy and David to create more collections!!

beautiful, but beware the CD
This is an absolutely gorgeous collection of Christmas music, mostly traditional carols, with a few more secular pieces as well. The arrangements are truly beautiful, with a full-bodied piano accompaniment and plenty of interest for the flute. The songs are a bit longer than you sometimes find on collections of this sort, ranging from three to five minutes. The flute part is lower than you sometimes see, nicely placed on the scale, not often going way up into the upper registers. (The piano sometimes goes pretty high, though!) My only objection is the CD. Although the accompaniment tracks are excellent, the full rendition of piano/flute is ONLY AN EXCERPT, only about 1/4 of each song. This is not stated in the description of the product, so beware.
