Beautiful!

I love this piece! This is a wonderful encore piece... and a wonderful any time piece for that matter. It gets pretty decorated and some parts are not too similar to the piano version... but I think it's nice! It shows the beautiful music that Chopin wrote, but also shows the wonderful abilities of the violin that you just can't reproduce on the piano. The only downside I would say is that I wish Sarasate would have left it in D-flat major like the original music. Much more serene and fitting for the melody. D major is a little too bright for this piece. But, on the other side, D major fits much better in a violinist's hand. For this transcription, I do recommend looking up Rubenstein's interpretation on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmo0H3jxGCA) - the recording is so old, it's basically transposed up a half step to D major anyway! haha. but it's one of my favorite interpretations.
