Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol debuted on the NBC television network on December 18, 1962, capturing the hearts of milllions with Broadway-caliber songs written by Bob Merrill and Jule Styne (Funny Girl) at the peak of their careers. Although this landmark production gradually became obscured by countless other televised Christmas specials that followed, its score remains noteworthy today for its timeless songs. Now, for the first time, this collectible songbook allows pianists and singers to explore the music and bring it to life anew. A fascinating historical foreword by animation expert Darrell Van Citters is included. Titles: * It's Great to Be Back on Broadway * Ringle, Ringle * The Lord's Bright Blessing * Alone in the World * Winter Was Warm * We're Despicable * The Lord's Bright Blessing (Reprise).

50 YEARS ON....THANK YOU1
This superb score was at the heart of one of the best-ever Christmas movies. The songs capture beautifully the spirit of Charles Dickens' masterpiece. I have been playing them for 50 years...by ear...and now gratefully welcome the sheet music.

The Lord's bright blessing
The music from this Christmas special is timeless (and very hard to find). It isn't played every year on TV (although it should be). The music is full and rich, with moving lyrics and engaging melodies. This is an excellent out-of-the-ordinary selection of sheet music for the holidays.
