Master Theory-Book 1
I use the first two books in this series for my voice students who do not already have a musical background. It's simple and is taught in very small units, so the student doesn't get overwhelmed. Note/rest values, time signatures, key signatures, sharps/flats/naturals, dotted rhythms. Book 2 builds on these and goes more into depth on the circle of keys, etc. Book 3 is more on composition, so I don't use that one. A good intro to basic music reading skills.

Really good series
I am a voice teacher and use this book with students who want some theory work. Advantages are that students can work on their own; there is plenty of review within the exercises; all the information they need is contained within the lessons; I don't have to take a lot of lesson time to go over their work. I keep the whole series on hand and encourage students to work at their own pace. Highly recommended.

Awesome!
I have all my students go through this series. It's methodical, starts VERY basic, covers all the bases, but takes a student all the way up to college level theory. It's also cheap, which the parents like.

Master Theory Book 1
This book is great for beginners and should be used if you are just starting music. However, I would skip to Book 2 if you have been playing music for at least a few years. This book covers basic music like what notes are, the staff and accidentals. Don't waste your money if you are a semi-experienced musician, skip straight to Book 2!

Good for Fiddles
Not all students take piano, and good theory books for violin students are particularly hard to find. My students find this book easy to understand and non-threatening. I recommend it for students who play a variety of instruments.

Hightly Recomend for Self Teaching.
Great way to study Music Theory on your own and at your own speed. Good exercises and understandable explanations. If you feel unsure about something you can get a teach to grade your test.

Nice and Organized
I would say this book would be for an older beginner. It does not waste time with funny cartoons and silly games. The lessons are well explained and they are followed by student assignments, reviews and tests. I bought the whole series to use in my piano instruction studio and am very pleased with whole thing.

The BEST music theory books available!
The Master Theory series is one of the best I've seen anywhere. I used these when I was in school, and now I bought them for my kids. I truly believe this will help any child (or beginner) to advance their music studies at a fast pace. The easy layout encourages the student to go further!

Wonderful Tool
My voice students were having a hard time learning theory and I was having a tough time tracking their progress. This book breaks down every part of theory into easy to learn segments and tests their skills. And you can't beat the price. Highly recommended!

Gradual and Thorough
I have been playing piano for about fifteen years. Sometime ago, I learned out of this curriculum. I like that it covers musical knowledge one little step at a time, and that it regularly provides cumulative reviews. What I dislike is rather superficial: it would be better if the lesson and the corresponding fill-in-the-blank questions were not on the same page.
