Mark Hayes: Hymns for the Intermediate Pianist. (Hymn Settings that Touch the Soul). By Mark Hayes. For piano. Sacred: General, Hymn-based Collection, Spiritual. Intermediate. Book. Published by Lorenz Publishing Company (LO.70-1554L).
Level 2 - "I love Mark Hayes piano arrangements, but they are just too difficult for me to play in public." If you have thought or even uttered that sentiment, Mark Hayes has a wonderful gift for you! The artistry, the emotion, the stylistic variety and musical interest--all are present in this, the first volume of an exciting new series that's been created with the intermediate skills of an emerging pianist firmly in mind. The listeners will both enjoy and be inspired by the unmistakable Mark Hayes touch, and only you will know or appreciate these carefully crafted easier arrangements for their modest technical demands. Now you can say, "I can't wait for the next volume of Mark Hayes hymn arrangements to share with my congregation," and have confidence that indeed, you will be able to do just that! (Durations are included for all selections.).

Hymns For The Intermediate Pianist
I really like Mark Hayes arrangements. They are not easy, but make you work to play them well. I still mostly use the organ in church, but as I learn the music (and get braver) I will play them at church

Hynm Settings that Touch the Soul
I was very dissappointed with this book. I have several Mark Hayes books and love them but this is not his usual style of music and i could not find much in it to play. It was basically a waste of money for me.

Rich arrangements, sounds harder than it is
I purchased this book in 2007, and have been returning to it for Sunday services many times. My favorites are Come Christians Join to Sing (very spirited), Christians We Have Met to Worship (fantastic!!), Beneath the Cross of Jesus (beautiful arrangement), Spirit of God Descend Upon My Heart, and This...
