This Edition Needs Revision
I purchased this edition a while back and keep discovering things that need to be revised. Most of the fingerings and postion choices are a bit unreasonable as (well as octove choices....all of it adds up to a lot of stress on the left hand...I have been comparing this to the Frank Koonce transcription of the Lute Suites and found his to be MUCH better .

satisfying
These pieces should be standards for guitarists. This transcription looses some of the subtleties of the original for Lute. However as a bonus it includes the Prelude and Fugue (bwv 999 - 1000) that I think was originaly for violin. Extensive fingering (that I dont always agree with) and performance notes make this sizable body of work a challange and a joy.

Not perfect but very good
I have used this for over two decades. It is much better than the "Lauten musik" edition which has Suite 2 in d-minor. As always with music of this difficulty there are many alternate fingerings possible and many players drop the 6th string to D for some of this music. Having checked most vs the Gesselschaft there are a few errors in the bass voice in the Prelude to # 2. Other than that I recommend.
