if you think michael portnoy is such an average drummer, why don't you try playing his part on the dark eternal night? as far as skill and entertainment go, michael portnoy is good enough to challenge neil pert from rush!

I'll choose MP rather than DW
To tell you honestly,Dave Weckl is WAY BETTER than Mike Portnoy in the technical side of drumming...BUT...Mike has come up with his own style of playing,which oppossess alot of other number of drummers around the world...the LTE albums prove to be a masterpiece and MP is proud to be one...

Rather Dave Weckl anyday
Mike Portnoy, the lord of unsubtlety, but whilst some drummers are unsubtle (e.g Dave Weckl) but fabulous musicians Mike Portnoy is actually not that good! He taught himself, and you can tell, he uses fast fills and lots of crashes to make it all sound very exciting, but if anyone...
