Just Keep Workin' At It
Brad Bombardiere has the right idea..start with simple semantics then add more layers of difficulty. Since no one can duplicate SRV, use this book to develope an excellent playing technique; this book when used in this way will help one play a satisfactory version of SRV's songs. There can transcription mistakes in most books, but this one is highly accurate; for what the book does miss, the ear can compensate. I would encourage players at all levels to buy this book--trailblazing developes good guitarists. This book is a great primer for "In Step". Yes,they do get more difficult as SRV's playing matured to fullness. In short, buy this book, "The Sky is Cryin'" and "In Step" and you will have a lifetime of challenging study.

Not for the faint hearted - But highly recommended
Not for the faint hearted - But pretty accurate tab as far as I can tell. Really helps to know Stevie's music beforehand, otherwise go and get it, because it really helps to have the music handy if you're starting out. Just because the tab is good, don't expect to master his stuff in a hurry, although some tunes are easier than others. Still, highly recommend it for authenticity. Great stuff!

A Must for any Rock/Blues Players!
Glad I found this book. I have found it to be deadly acurate and the songs well laid out - easy to interpret. This a great collection of Stevie's best work. Can't miss with this one. I'm into both rock and blues and know one can combine the two like Stevie Ray.

It's good (for the most part)
I thought I would add to the reviews since I used them before I purchased this book. For the most part the book seems to be accurate, however, there are fills not included. Also, there are solo's left out. For example, Little Sister has only half the solo transcribed. Transcribtion ends but Stevie keeps playing. I've also noticed that some of the second verses are not entered or some what confusing to read. Just thought I would mention this. On the other hand, there is not a lot of SRV transcription to choose from. You take what you can get.

Nicely Done
This book is great. It has a lot of his best work [thu little wing, lenny and rude mood would have been better to be in here] and everything is in top order as these tabs are on. Now, be warned there are 2 versions of this book and make sure u get the 2nd edition done by jess gress or something like that. the 1st one was bad and is nowhere near the revised edition.I rate this inter/adv but really think its advanced because the stuff is hard, especially to play it like he does but you can get it with practice so just get it and go! Learn many cool chops while playing the blues,You cant go wrong with this one, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this book is really great..a must have for any SRV fan!!! it covers a wide range of songs...and it covers them well. this is not a book i would recommend to beginners..its very challenging!! but when u think about it...SRV was the master of the guitar..and no one will ever be able to play it better than him..

Good Book / Tough Songs
As a SRV fan this book has all the big songs. Very challenging as for an intermediate player but what can I say its SRV. The book itself is fantastic. I reccmmend starting slow learning the main intro and verse then taking on the challenging solos. I simplified the playing style till I had it down then added the the more advanced as I could.

All transcriptions are very accurate. I purchased the book about 7 years ago & it was the springboard of my playing.

Covers a difficult subject
Well done. It shows all the small things but avoids the accidental scratchs or trivial things that some magazines put in their tabs. Highly reccomended.

the best blues book you can buy
This is the best Stevie Ray Vaughan book i have ever seen. The tabs are accurate and well done. I recommend this to any one, but i will say, Stevie was the master and this book will challenge anyone, even the best of the best.
