I wondered about duplication
Love them. I looked for duplication of pieces from vol 1 to vol 2 and found only Debussy's "La fille aux cheveux de lin" in both. You still have 191 pieces to enjoy! I look for collections for my older students so they don't have to purchase volumes of a single composer's pieces. This gives them a more economical exposure to the wonderful variety out there. The students not only can enjoy playing some of the pieces which are at their level, but also see how challenging music can be, so that they can appreciate the hard work of artists they hear and be inspired to apply themselves. I agree with another reviewer that ornamentation, as well as some other notation, is clearer in other versions, but my complaint is not enough to toss these babies out.

Tons of Music
This is a great book. It takes the best from each composer. I've had a hard time deciding which few pieces to buckle down and focus on because they are all so great. I'm sure I will treasure this for years to come.

A good compendium
As a piano teacher, I am always looking for materials for my upper int. /adv. students, & this book is very good at filling that need. Lots of variety in terms of style & length. Certainly enough to last a high-school student for 4 years. I do recommend the student play from a "real" [Henle] edition of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, & Chopin & not rely on this book for that, as there are questionable editing marks & the scores tend to be crowded. Sometimes ornamentation markings are suspect, too.). Particularly, the Bach is full of gobble-de-gook, so paint out all the dynamics, speed indications, etc. & concentrate on the notes. Fingering is generally helpful. Very heavy book; comb binding is generally cooperative. Bk 2 is a nice continuation. Use the Easy 1 & 2 for sight-reading & for intermediates (some are transposed or shortened, but so what?). I am not familiar with the difficulty or content of the "light classics" book. This book is an excellent value, & I recommend it.

Everything you possibly need!
This book contains many great piano solos. I have bought this book and played many pieces. It contains some well- known pieces all ranging in difficulty. They are for the most part the real edition. I would reccomend this book highly due to its contents and outstanding price.

A Book for all skill levels
This book contains tons of piano classics done by lots of different composers. Although most of it is intermediate and advanced, there are still some easy, fun pieces scattered throughout it. I would not reccommend this book for beginners or beginner/intermediate learners. The only setback is that is is so huge ( 352 pgs., about 1 1/4 in.) and it is difficult to turn the pages. The fingerings are alright, nothing terrible/special. Overall, this is a great book, and its a great deal.

The best book for the money
As a post grade 8 student looking for a wide range of study material, to keep me occupied. I have found this set of books extremely useful. The sheer quantity of quality sheet music for such a small price ensures value for money.

Essential To Have
This book is loaded with the great piano classics. This together with Vol. 2 will ensure that you will never be bored. Although there are some easier more intermediate solos such as Bach's "Prelude In C" or Schubert's "Serenade", a lot of these are advanced pieces and require extensive knowledge.

Great book! A must for any pianist.
This book is amazing. It has over 100 recognizable titles varying in skill level from Beginner to Expert. For example, a beginner might learn Fur Elise, while an expert would play Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 or Rachmaninov's Prelude Op 3. An intermediate could try their hand at Sabre Dance or Cliare De Lune. With 351 pages, you're sure to find a piece you'll enjoy playing. The one drawback is that some pieces are made easier while some remain harder. So if you're looking for the original Blue Danube Waltz or an easy Hungarian Rhapsody, you won't find it here. Overall, still a great buy for any player, regardless of age or skill.
