To familiarize students with notation found in Debussy and Ravel, titles have been written in French with English subtitles: expressive instructions are in French as well, and a glossary is provided in the introductory pages. Jennifer Linn's 'Les Petites Images' presents a lovely collection of late-elementary piano solos, rich in impressionistic textures with some expressive pedal points and double thirds. However, it's important to note these are purely piano repertoire pieces and not structured for vocal accompaniment or collaborative piano work. While excellent for piano students, a vocal coach looking for supportive scores should look elsewhere.

This collection of early-intermediate piano solos is well-written and engaging. While not designed for a typical gig where lead sheets or chord symbols are needed (and none are present here), the pieces are solid educational repertoire. They span 2-4 pages, so page turns are manageable if you were to perform them in a recital setting. Good for a specialized event, but not standard gig fare.

I absolutely love 'Les Petites Images'! Jennifer Linn's impressionistic style is so evocative and genuinely enjoyable to play. As an adult learner at an early-intermediate level, I find these solos perfectly achievable yet they sound incredibly sophisticated. The French titles and instructions add a lovely touch, making it feel like a mini musical journey. Definitely recommend for a relaxing and rewarding practice session.

It's an inspiring, very well written for piano easy impressionistic collection of fantastic beautiful pieces. I love them, mye students love them. Interesting harmonies, refreshing and surprizing. Simply great!

I wanted music that was soothing, beautiful. & relaxing. I think I was misled by the title and the picture on the cover into thinking that was the type of music in this book. I was disappointed because many of the pieces are quite dissonant and/or had to be played extremely fast. It is true that they sound more difficult than they are, which may make them good recital pieces, but I did not get the enjoyment from playing them that I had hoped for. These are not pieces that I would ever want to play for my friends. I was very glad to be done with this book.
