Les Miserables
It is not in the original keys, I think, with sometimes can make it less beautiful. As it often gets when you simplify things. Otherwise, always fast delivers even to Sweden.

Les Miserables Vocal Selections
This music is great and so is the book. But, I was very angry at how easy it was. I enjoy playing it but wish this book was a bit more difficult. If only there was a VOCAL SCORE to LES MISERABLES!

Fun, slightly disappointing
Overall this is a great book, however, having the melody in the piano score at every moment is often frustrating unless you are playing the song as a piano solo.

A Vocalists must have
I find it to be useful for singers in all ranges. "stars" is beautiful. if only they could put all songs in this masterpiece in the book....

less miserable than other notes
This book has excellent notes which do a great deal of justice to the music of Les Miserables. It also has a few pictures of a performance of the musical. It has three lines of notes, of which the top is melody only, while the bottom two are the complete piano notes. I would have preferred only the notes. It also lacks a few songs from the musical, including Dog Eats Dog (one of my personal favorites). In short, the book provides quality, not quantity

Les Miserables - Songs from the Musical
This is a well put-together book, with 14 songs from the musical, as well as a very complete story and good graphics of the production. While the songs are all claim original copyright, buyers should be a little careful. At least one song (Bring Him Home) is not presented in the original key.

Les Miserables
It includes virtually all the important songs, unlike other editions which leave out some, so that you have to buy several albums.

different
The music is so different from what I use to sing. I am a classical singer but wantend to try Musical songs. It is a different way of singing, but a very nice way. This book is a very good start. I love this book.

Les Miserables: Music from the Soul
This music is BEAUTIFUL and I highly enjoy singing and playing. The piano music is fairly easy; be warned. But other than that I have no complaints to offer for the arrangements...if you have not played or heard this music you must do so AT ONCE! All glory to God~

Lovely music
I love the music! It's not too hard at all (but I've been playing for seven years). I love Les Miserables, and this sheet music is a good representation of the musical's.

my beautifully biased review
Ok, keep in mind that if you enjoy the emotional music from Les Miserables and have a solid piano ability, YOU NEED THIS BOOK. seriously, I loved it. I got it when I was only twelve, and it was too advanced at the time. Now, however, I have mastered the piano a little more and this is my favorite book! It is one of those books that is full of those beautiful songs that are fun to go back and play for years after you have mastered them. I would say it is intermediate. The right hand is far more complicated that the left hand. The left hand is generally broken chords. I noticed that one person mentioned that the tempo can be tricky and I have to agree. I reccomend having the cd nearby for those sections that you just can't remember. overall, this is probably the best book of sheet music ever. BUY IT!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful!
Wonderful arrangements! Intermediate level but they sound very difficult when played. I've had so many compliments when playing these songs. One of the best musical purchases that I've ever made. Thank you.

The arrangements are superb, the lyrics gripping, the music FANTASTIC. Wow, I'll say it backwards: WOW. What a story and what a musical.

love 2 songs
I have learned only the songs "Bring him Home" and "I Dreamed a Dream", but I think these are wonderful versions of the songs. They are good as a piano accompianist and just fun to play. You can also edit them by taking away repeated notes that are added for effect(which often happens)to make it easier.

NOT so Miserable
What a great book! most of the hit songs are there and really does represent the musical very well. The pieces vary in difficulty but with practice anyone can play these pieces. Fav: "Who Am I"

ASTOUNDING
I love Les Mis! It is a VERY complex piece of music, but when perfected it will be incredible. The Tenor solo in "Bring Him Home" at God On High is quite difficult to do, but very amazing when the high notes are hit on pitch. I love Les Mis beyond all reason, I am currently saving up to go see the play.

Excellent
I am a great fan of Les Mis, so my opinion may be biased. The book has excellent arrangements, and I'm happy to say stays true to the orgininal score. The rhythms may be a bit difficult at times, but it's very easy to pick up for one who has heard the music. Occasionally a scary key signature or complicated treble line, so these pieces take practice, but once perfected they are a joy to play. Excellent book.

It Rules!!!!
I am a total Les Mis fanatic and I don't think there is one song in it I don't like! My fave is 'I Dreamed A Dream'...or possibly 'On My Own.' I also love 'Castle on a Cloud,' 'One Day More,' 'A Little Fall of Rain,' 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,' and 'Come to Me,' to name just a few. I would reccomend this music to anyone. It's hard but well worth learning! LES MIS ROCKS!!!!!!!

Gorgeous!
Though I wouldn't suggest it to beginners, this book is a classic. I am a complete fan of Les Miserables - play, movie, book, and especially the music. Once perfected, the pieces can be truly touching. With a fairly simple baseline and general right-handed melody, this book allowed me to develop my own style as I learned the songs. Being that I play the piano, I was delighted to see that the melody was kept by the piano, not just an accompaniment, so that it can be played as a solo. It takes some practice, because a lot of the pieces can be difficult, but the challenge made it all the better! Fantastic book!!!

Beautiful Music
If you are approximately grade 6 or above then this is sight reading-material. It is easy for advanced pianists, but if you are around the grade 1-3 I would not advise purchasing this. The music is absolutely beauiful and dramatic throughout. My favourite is at the end of the day. Another good thing about this book is that although songbooks like this are classed piano/vocal, usually they only contain a bass line, melody at the top of the right hand and then some middle notes to fill the chords in. This book actually contains the proper accompaniments, almost replicating the force of the show's orchestra in two hands. Definitely a book worth buying if you appreciate good music!

Beautiful Music!
Les Miserables has beautiful music but I would not recommend it for the beginner or some one who isn't willing on working on a certain song for a long period of time. It doesn't have a hard bass cleff line, but at times the treble cleff can be busy and the key signatures can also be very difficult at times. There are great pieces in here to audition with and the music is both brilliant and very beautiful. A great vocal book as well as piano!

I loved this
I don't think the music is that hard, but sometimes it can be Challenging. It is definitely worth it though. Most of the songs are very good (MASTER OF THE HOUSE!!!)

Not For Sight Reading
The piano music in here is a little complex, but with practice it becomes fairly easy. Typically, the bass line is simple, chords, broken chords, or single notes, but the treble clef is busy. There are some tough rhythmical sections and some key signatures are difficult to read. If you haven't played piano for very long, I wouldn't recommend this, but with practice, most people who have played 2-3 years would be able to play the songs.

Great music, but hard!
This book of music is definitely not for the beginner. The piano notes are difficult, and the guitar chords provided are sometimes near impossible. It is great to practice with, but don't think you will be able to play "Les Miserables" right away!
