One part only

I was disappointed in the lack of a chord chart and no piano part. The violin part itself was fine -- very playable.

something missing

How about it? 60 songs of the Fab Four? Nice in concept, but somebody will find something wrong with it. If this is going to be a sing-along book, you'll want to see some lyrics. If it's not going to be just one player show, you'll want to see some guitar chords. The tunes are simple, but some of them will challenge beginner players into counting and getting the notes played on time. We remember that these songs were composed with singing in mind and not for solo fiddle. Played on the violin most sound very thin, which doesn't matter much if you just want to play the Beatles by yourself. This may be the best Beatles book for fiddle, but, I would hope that isn't the only songbook you buy for fiddle because of the great variety of much better stuff out there.

Somewhat Disappointed

I got the feeling that whoever arranged the music does not know the violin. Must of the music is written on the upper range of the instrument, from the A string and up with no markings or special arragements that would bring the beauty of the violin. It would have been better to buy the same music for Voice. Having said that, Beatle's music is wonderfully timeless.

Okay if you only have one player

The arrangements are fine, but not in the same key as the piano/vocal book I bought. It's fine if you only have one solo instrument, but won't work if you want to play with guitar, piano or other instruments. If you need to arrange for multiple instruments, get the piano/vocal or similar book.

Great book!

This book is awesome! It allows me to play my favorite Beatle's songs that were easy to learn and a great experience to a different kind of music.

Great for kids.

I had recently bought this for my daughter to try to get her to play more violin around the house. She loved it and now I can't stop her from playing.

PLAYING WITH THE BEATLES

This book has all t he many favorites of the Beatles. It's easy to play and enjoyable to hear yourself play Beatles tunes. I suggested my sister to see if they had a flute book. Then we can enjoy playing this fun music together.

Ordered for my 13 yr old Daughter

Thank you for your selection of music My daughter is really enjoying all three booklets, Especially the Lennon and McCartney. Not only does she enjoy it but I love to hear her in her room playing. It is so soothing with that faint violin music in the background of your home. Thanks again!

Hot Pick

I have only had about 8hrs of lessons so far on the violin...I am working very hard at learning everything...I will be able to play this shortly. I am working on timing of the beats...It's a hot pick!

60 greatest hits - the greatest music book

When I first spotted this book on the internet, I thought, "Wow, this book looks great, I think I'll buy it. And when my mom bought it for me, I thought it was even greater.

ehhhh....

Although the selections of songs in this book are very good there is one thing I didn't like. I think all of the songs are written way too high. When you hear the actual songs by The Beatles and then play it from this book it doesn't sound that good.

Basic at best.....

I guess I was hoping for a more embellished violin version, but the Beatles are the Beatles and you don't change that- if you are a good embellisher, have at it. Sometimes it took me a long time just to recognize the tune.

Everyone loves the Beatles

My all-time favorite favorite Beatles tune of all time was always "Hey, Jude." And now being able to pick up the violin and play it virtously after short practice is a great joy. They are all very easy. All first position. It's extremely that the bowing is imppecable, otherwise it won't sound very inspiring. It's a must-have and its beautiful red color truly stands out in any music library. It is always reccomended that the player listens to all 60 tunes to facilitate the imitation. It's worth all of your money and more.

The Best Book Ever!

I love this book! I am in seventh grade, playing in a seventh and eigth grade orchestra, and i get mainly second violin pieces to practice, which isn't very fun a lot of times. but this book was so cool! i started with michelle, norweigan wood, and yesterday, which helped me learn how to play in second and third position. it is so awesome! i now love my violin more than my theoretical children!i reccomend this to anyone who has been playing for a year or two and is b.o.r.e.d. with their music!

THIS IS GREAT!

For all of you Beatle-violin playing fans out there, this is an excellent book! It is amazing the variety of choices this book has, and for so cheap! I think if you really are a true Beatles fan, you will absolutely love all of the classic songs this book offers!
