Legato Etudes for French Horn. For Horn. Brass - French Horn Method or Collection. Book. 32 pages. Published by Alfred Music Publishing (AP.EL02282).

ISBN 0769224148.

Legato Etudes for Frech Horn, based on the vocalises of Guiuseppe Concone, is addressed to three specific problems faced by the French horn performer: interpretation of the legato phrase, extension of the low range, and familiarity with the bass (F) clef. Key signatures, time signatures, and dynamic markings have received careful consideration in relation to these problems.

Shoemaker Concone horn studies

Of all the adaptations of Concone studies this remains the best. The extension of horn range and understanding of the lyricism is excellent. A MUST have for the budding horn player. It can also be used as transposition exercises with appropriate guidance from the tutor.
