Mouquet's best known work is his Sonata for Flute and Piano, "La Flute de Pan." He taught at the Conservatoire de Paris in the early 1900's as professor of harmony. Late romantic and impressionist composers were his main creative influences. Includes: Pan et les Bergers * Pan et les Oiseaux * Pan et les Nymphes.

Excellent piece!
I have played the flute for around 25 years; the last 12 in our local symphony. This music by Mouquet is just beautiful; expressive, challenging, and fun for the advanced classical flutist. Love it!

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard performed on the flute (when played well). I would advise any competent flute player to buy it, as well as a recording made by James Galway in 1997 "Music for my Friends" on the RCA Victor...
