EASY AND ENJOYABLE
My keyboard skills are basic, and Lawrence Grant's arrangements allow me play these great Joplin tunes. It's especially fun to find reproductions of the original sheet music artwork.

Good Study and Fun
Good study in syncopation for my second and third year piano students/sons. A fun break from the classical pieces they are used to.

Good for high beginners
The music in this high-beginner book certainly doesn't match the richness and complexity of Joplin's original music. But if you're like me, meaning not yet good enough to play at the advanced level, these pieces provide you with the satisfaction of being able to play ragtime. The music also sounds good enough to play to your (indulgent) friends. Not beginner level but not quite intermediate either.

Not quite beginner level
This book is beginner level for playing chords with both hands, but unless you are up to playing two notes with each hand, it may be frustrating to you. Also - the quality of the print is a bit poor, sort of like a copy of a copy, if you're old enough to remember when copiers where worse than they are now.

Catches everyone's attention.....
What Harry Potter is to the young reader, the "Entertainer" is to the budding pianist. Once you hear the music and watch the Oscar-winning movie, "The Sting", you'll want to play every rag from Scott Joplin you can get your hands on! Ragtime music is truly inspirational and the life of the party. Play the wildly popular "Maple Leaf Rag" and the thoroughly enjoyable "The Easy Winners". Ragtime music has the most delightful fingering exercises you will experience. Catapult your learning experience or that of your child by working through this music while listening to his music on CD! Experience a genre of music by its most prolific composer and appreciate the rich cultural diversity Scott Joplin contributed to American music."
