Basie did call her "Stride" for a reason
Aint' Misbehavin' is the highlight amongst these arrangements. Unlike some different books (like Oscar Peterson arrangements) these arrangements one sound great stand alone as performance pieces, rather than pure improvisation. The only catch with these pieces: they sound much better if you have a hand span of at least 10, otherwise it is hard to get that nice, quasi-staccato striding in the left hand. If you get the chance to see Judy live, I'd highly recommend it. Not many international class stride pianists these days! Her CD's are well worth it too, however her recording arrangements are technically more difficult.

left hand development
The first few pages have some nice left hand excercises for this style. Invaluable. The pieces themselves I haven't got to yet-- but they look challenging. Lovely Chords.
