Great for beginners of all ages.

I teach all ages as beginners. This book is not too fast and not to repetative so it is great for all ages. I reccommend it to any piano teacher for their students. I actually switched from another book to this one.

Been around since 1945 for a reason!!

I started using this method approximately three years ago after trying Alfred, Bastien, and other series. This has been the best by far! It moves along at a comfortable pace that students seem to really enjoy. "The Funny Bunny" tends to make young, beginning students feel like they are playing...

For

Teachers who have taken a course in piano pedagogy realize that research into how students best learn does not support the methodology of this course. Schaum has written another course, the "Making Music Method," which is much more in line with current research. I would recommend that teachers who are...

My 1st Songbook

I feel the John W. Schaum songbooks are the easiest books to play from. They provide basic music that kids like to play. Some of the other series do not apply to kids the way these books do. I recommend the John W. Schaum series to my piano students.
