Jimi Hendrix - Learn to Play the Songs from Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix. By Andy Aledort and Velvert Turner. Videos. Video. Published by Hal Leonard (HL.320199).
ISBN 0634014404. 4.25x7.5 inches.
This fantastic two-video set shows guitarists how to play the important parts to every song on this influential album. The videos are hosted and taught by Velvert Turner, a student and friend of Jimi's, with demonstrations by ace Hendrix guitar educator Andy Aledort. For each song, the guitar parts are played at two tempos to help players learn each riff and solo properly, and there are backing tracks to play along with. As a bonus, this set includes actual footage of Jimi playing many of the songs explored and presented on these tapes. Players will learn: Purple Haze • Manic Depression • Hey Joe • Love or Confusion • May This Be Love • I Don't Live Today • The Wind Cries Mary • Fire • Third Stone from the Sun • Foxey Lady • Are You Experienced? • Stone Free • 51st Anniversary • Highway Chile • Can You See Me • Remember • and Red House.

Too shallow
I bought this tape hoping to learn "The Wind Cries Mary" and "Hey Joe" but they only spend 5 minutes per song. I wanted a more in-depth study of these songs like the SongXpress series by Warner Brothers where they spend a good 20 or more minutes analyzing and teaching...
