It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing). By Irving Mills, Duke Ellington. Arranged by Lennie Niehaus. For saxophone quartet (2 altos, tenor and baritone saxophones). Grade 4. Score and set of parts. Duration 2 minutes, 50 seconds. Published by Kendor Music Inc (KN.16056).
As the title implies, this arrangement of the great Duke Ellington tune does indeed have 'that swing.' There is a great deal of vertical writing using interesting chords, some duets, solos for tenor and alto 1, and a modulation with a swinging shout chorus. Duration 2:50.
