The worst tab book ever!
There are plenty of bad reviews for this book and frankly they are all justified! I don’t understand how people can be positive about this “thing”. Why? Simply because the transcription are not complete at all and moreover what’s printed is wrong or too simplify to be playable! I rated this book as "advanced in term of difficulty" because you have to figure everything on your own! What’s written is completely useless, except maybe for the overall harmony which is more or less correct. I hope than one day a good editor (Hal Leonard anyone?) will publish descent quality tab of early maiden- the music deserve it. My advice: don’t buy it!

Shouldn't still be in print
This is a reprint from Cherry Lane's older "Play it Like it Is" version, which I bought back in the mid 1980's at a Sam Goody's store in Atlanta. It was bad back then and nothing's changed. It's sad to see this thing still in print as it doesn't even faithfully represent the recordings and has many many things missing. For example, Run to the Hills.. this song has a unison bend intro lick high on the fretboard, yet this book "transcribes" it in third position on one string, down an octave....??? Call this Maiden for "Easy Tab" or "Easy Guitar." Why this one is still out there, yet the fabulous Powerslave/Somewhere in Time anthology (transcribed by Wolf Marshall) is apparently out of print... save your money and get The X Factor.

Atrocious
Well, where to begin... 1. The transcriptions are about as horrid as you can get. And the fingerings are about as bass-ackwards as you can get. 2. No leads...never mind solos. No harmony parts. 3. You can find far better tabs on the internet...even one of the crappy sites! There is a good interview with Steve Harris, but that sure isn't worth $20. The overall harmony is generally correct (like, right chords and stuff) and would function well as a lead sheet, but to actually play this note-for-note would require some require a couple of quarts of beer to not offend your ear (I plugged the notes into Powertab, and they sound just awful). A definite must-avoid unless you're a Maiden collector.

no solos...maiden without solos???
had pictures interviews, all you want in a good book...except for good tabs. To my dismay, it contained absolutely no solos, and for the lyrics, it told you chord names, whereas it showed 25 different chords at the top. What happened to regular tabs?? [...]

Let's have a book burning!!!
I bought this horrible crap back in like 1985 when I first started playing and maiden was everything to me. How dismayed was I to discover that this book was basically a joke. No solos and inaccurate tabs. I[...]To this day, the only maiden book worth buying, and it is the bomb, is Powerslave/Somewhere In Time. It is pretty much 100% perfect to the recordings and has given me immeasurable pleasure. I just made the mistake of purchasing Brave New World (the tab book) and there's no solos! Who ...would make a maiden book without solos? Can't someone publish the early maiden albums up to Piece of Mind in accurate tab with solos? I would pay a pretty price for those!

Try reading the music
Although the tabs in this thing may not be too good, and perhaps occasionally slightly simplified, the stuff is mostly there. You just need to know how to interpret the tabs by using the music. Sure there are no solos, but it does kinda imply in the book that they are not entirely fixed.

Run to the hills as far away from this
I bought this book when it first came out and I tought I was the worst beginner to ever attempt to play a maiden song. It made me hate the instrument I was so hard trying to learn. Had I read any of these testimonials back then; It would have saved me 10 years of trying to figure this stuff out. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!...

Strictly rhythm..
I purchased this book years ago as it was the only Maiden tab book out there at the time. If you've never played a guitar before, it will get you on the fast track to playing the rhythms to some of their greatest songs. I must warn you however that if you aspire to learn the band's phenomenal solo work, you won't find it here. Save the 15-20$ and just buy the latest guitar mag that might have a complete transcription of one song! LEARN the WHOLE SONG!J.M.

Huuuuaaaaahhhh! :(
Bought this piece of crap....not too smart! Boy, was I disappointed.... No solos (well, except for "Quest for fire"). There are plenty of bad guitar tabs published, but this one must take the prize! All categories. Most of the songs are very badly transcribed and you get the feeling that this was put together over a coffee break by someone who hardly listened to the songs. Don't waste your money...

Absolute crap...
Don't even consider buying this. Whatever it has for riffs is extremely inaccurate and there aren't any solos at all. Sure, it has about 50 songs in it, but you won't learn anything from this book except the lyrics. Heck, even the lyrics are wrong in some songs.

Weird?
I'm pretty sure most of the above reviews were by the same guy, i think the only flaw is the distinct lack of solos, it was the main reason i bought it, disappointing but the riffs and stuff is good.

Wow!
Thanks to all of the reviewers, I didn't even buy this book. Never in my life have I seen such a unified response about anything. To those who are thinking about this book and want to get an opinion, I'll sum it up...there are approximately 50 reviews below this one and EVERY SINGLE ONE says that this is the absolute worst piece ever printed! It was a strong enough response to stop me from buying it. Thanks guys!!!

Dude...
Dude....= I was looking around at all the books at guitar center, and then I swear i thought i saw the light cause i was thinking, hell yea! an Iron Maiden book! w00t w00t! So I open up the sucker and have a look. TO my great dismay though..THERES NO WORD OUT THERE TO DESCRIBE HOW BAD THIS THING IS! THere are parts for the other instruments playing in the songs, and the tabs are like written by a guy who seems to apparently be trying to write the tabs for a Justin Timberlake song or something... Really...save your 20+ dollars and get something where the tabs are correct, and you actually get a full song...geez for gods sake what was the publisher thinking?!

Can't be right
I took one look at this s--- in the music store. I just laughed at it and put it back. You can't possibly put on paper accurately exactly what Dave Murray plays, it would take several volumes to do any kind of justice to Live After Death or Somewhere in Time. It just flows, man.

Awful!
I started my guitar career with this book. I thought I had the guitar tuned wrong because nothing seemed to match. This is a lame attempt to cash in on the name. You'd really have to be a wizard to make this book useful as youd have to compensate for it's errors. Besides, it said "tablature" on the cover which is true but there are very few of them.

I hate this book!
I thought it was gonna be a good book, but when I opened it, I found out it sucked horribly! This book completely trashes Iron Maiden's and Eddie's dignity. There is not a single speck of guitar music for "Run To the Hills." Instead it has weird slashes where the music should be. I'll bet Stevie Wonder could have tabbed a better book! I bought this at Guitar Center, so I can't return it. This book is way bogus and a waste of money!!!

The absolute worst transcription book ever published. the songs are about 10% accurate. This book was probably transcribed by a flute player not a guitarist. A true insult to the intricate music of maiden.

DREADFUL!
This is by far the most unhelpful tab book I have ever bought. Thankfully, I've since sold it, but what a waste of money and disappointment in the first place. I'm only a beginner, and was hoping to learn some of the great Maiden riffs and harmonies. Sadly, they are few and far between, and what there is doesn't always seem accurate. Don't waste your cash on this rubbish.

Warner Brothers makes crappy books
The only reason this book is bad is because some stupid people decided to have a crappy transcriber to write this book out. I wish the person who tabbed this book out, along with the other Maiden books, would read these reviews to know how bad he sucks at writing this stuff out. You're better off having fun figuring out these songs on your own because the person who tabbed this stuff out is a retard. The solos are wrong. Don't make the mistake of buying Iron Maiden books because they're all under the same publisher and they suck balls!

This is an Easy Guitar book
This is not a real transcription of the four albums. It contains MOSTLY just power chords - very few riffs and almost zero solos. This an "Easy Guitar" version, though it's also a "Wrong Guitar" version. The transctiptions are filled with errors (particularly the vocal line) and many formal parts of the songs are simply skipped. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any other Maiden tab book available so we're all stuck.

Incomplete!
I bought this book because it says it contains music "and tablature". Well, it does and it doesn't. It does not contain complete tablature to every song. It does not contain the solos, and the percentage of tablature in the entire book is probably 10% compared to 90% standard music notation. If you want to learn Maiden's songs note for note, look elsewhere. If you just want the power chords, that's pretty much all this book is good for. Dissappointing.....
