This has become a standard repertoire piece for trumpet recitals. It's written for trumpet in Ut (C). While not extremely difficult technically, it's very challenging in the areas of flexibility and endurance, with wide interval leaps and lengthy passages with few rests. Difficult but briliant

A very very difficult but impressive piece. Must be a great thing if you can play it brilliantly. The accompaniment is quite easy - except that the pianist'd better have long fingers. One of my favourite trumpet solo pieces!

A Fine Piece......

I like most everything Honegger has composed, including this fine, well-conceived work for trumpet & piano. It's somewhat challenging, but the effort is well worth it.
