In the Doghouse - Score only by Erik Morales. For jazz band. FJH Developing Jazz Ensemble. Score only. Full set (score and parts) also available: JE4128. Grade 2.5. Score only. Composed 2006. Duration 4:00. Published by The FJH Music Company Inc (FJ.JE4128S).
In the Doghouse is inspired by a combination of two grooves, boogie-woogie and shuffle. This piece is an important teaching tool for these styles of music and showcases all the elements of your ensemble. The piano provides a boogie-woogie feel that is simplified and easy for young jazz students to learn. Trombones and bari sax also add to the rhythm section ostinato. Saxes carry out the melodic duties with support from trumpets.
