In Quest of Uluru by James Swearingen. For concert band. FJH Developing Band. Full set (score and parts). Score only also available: B1146S. Grade 1.5. Score and set of parts. Composed 2002. Duration 2:33. Published by The FJH Music Company Inc (FJ.B1146).
The slow introduction splits the melody between the clarinets, alto sax, and flute. This builds into a full band statement scored in a very lush manner. A faster section moves between 4/4 and 2/4, creating a pulse that captivates the listener. The repetitive rhythms and solid scoring of James Swearingen make this an ideal festival or contest piece.
