NOT THAT HARD
Sure john petrucci busts out some crazy ass solo's, actually lots of amazing solo's. you should buy this book as it helps you play dream theater's songs and also helps rifine and inspire your creating ability which is very important. now many people have said this book is advanced i hardly see it that way i have only been playing for 2 years and im able to bust some shred and manage petrucci's solo's. but take heed i have been practicing solindly for those 2 years about 4-5 hours a day mostly on shred. so if you think your up for a chalenge this book will test you a bit.

A great book by a tremendous band!
First and foremost, this book is ADVANCED, and not for the faint-hearted. If you like odd rythmns and fast guitar parts, this book is for you. The transcriptions are very accurate and even include some by John Petrucci himself! This is a must for any guitarist wishing to learn something more substantial than "Disturbed" or "Sevendust". It's a great buy.

Killer Album
Although Dream Theater is not very widely recognized in South America I can see that John Petrucci is one of the best guitarists of modern times and in this tab book we can see his technique in playing.

A Great Album of the year
I like this album so much. I like the players' performances. There are some songs that I think are so difficult to play -- "Metropolis Part I", and "Wait for Sleep"

Images and Words
This is a superb book for not only learning the music but also for fiding holes in your technique. If you enjoy Johns playing then it is worth buying. There are a few tabbed mistakes but the dots are right. Great fun to work through. If you want to improve technique and musicality this is a must buy. (not to mention improving your sense of rhythm.) Also check out Rock Disciplin by John Petrucci. Well worth getting, full of technical exercises and theory behind making good arrangements. I have been playing 3 years now, I had the advantage of playing the cello for 7 years previously which gave me a huge head start in learning the guitar. There is always a new challenge to be found in these books. Have fun.
