serves its purpose
"Hymne" is a very easy, very pretty piece of music. I am an organist who ordered it because someone requested it for their wedding. I would probably consider giving it to a beginning piano student as repetoire they can learn quickly. It's quite similar in aesthetic and structure to Pachelbel's Canon in D, and has, I suspect, a similar early appeal and a similar tendency to get boring after a while.

Vangelis:Hymne used as a string trio
A bride requested this for her entrance for her wedding. For most of this piece there are only 3 lines of music so it was easy for a string trio to split the parts and each of us take a line. Did have to transpose bass clef for viola though. On our first reading the lower parts were dragging making it difficult to get it to hang together. Once we played it a few times with more confidence it worked well. I was glad we were able to play the piece the bride wanted.
