A compilation of the "best" of the hymn-based repertoire by Johnson derived from existing and backlist sources, this anthology also includes a few titles previously published by outside sources which are now not available anywhere. Also included are two compositions that were found in the "unpublished" archives maintained by the Johnson family. Here's a new edition of the best of Johnson's hymn-based voluntaries, derived from a variety of sources. This volume encompasses a wide range of familiar tunes which have been set in some of his favorite styles including the partita, fantasy, toccata, and straight-up voluntary. Organists will appreciate access to some pieces which were previously not available.
