As an experienced student and teacher I have to say that this book is definitely NOT for beginning guitar students. I would first suggest using a basic guitar introductory course, like one with Jarad Meccer, published by Alfred. This Hanon Studies for guitar is really an early intermediate to intermediate level book. So, I would strongly recommend it only for the more experienced players, and definitely use a Metronome while playing! It's a great way for a beginner to learn the basic note and Tab reading. I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. I really enjoy it, and it sounds beautiful to the ears.
