A sound start.
This is a good all round guitar method for beginners who want to start on a solid foundation. I've used this method with students as young as 9 years with great success. It's equally useful for much older beginners (my son used it at university, training as a primary school teacher!). Students can then follow on to book 2 or move on to styles of playing they have developed an interest in, with a sound basic understanding of the instrument.
