Satriani Teaches

I was very glad to receive this item as a gift as I knew that Joe Satriani used to write a regular column or guitar articles. I never got a chance to read them all.

Great Buy - period

This book is a complete collection of all the monthly columns that Satriani did for the mag Guitar for the Practicing Musician back in the late 80's. It offers great theory insight and lessons, especially for the cheap price of the book. Well worth it.

Short Lessons from Joe Satriani

Every guitarist seriously interested in improving should check out these short lessons originally written for a guitar magazine by Joe Satriani. If you absorb any of these lessons and put in the practice time you will definitely be a noticeably better guitarist.

Great..Even if you're not a Satch fan!

I've got nothing against Satch. He's just not my cup of tea in terms of his music. This book however is BRILLIANT! If you have a good understanding of theory, this book will work wonders for you. He takes very advanced concepts..things I learned studying Jazz guitar in collage and breaks them down into simplistic terms(as much as can be done anyway). If you're looking for a good book on lead guitar that shows more than running up and down scales, then this book is for you. Most lead guitar books don't have a third of the info but are 3 times as much in price. Just make sure you have an understanding of music theory first.

Stick Satch in your pipe and smoke it...

Wow, what a book. If you cant afford to hire Mr Satriani to sit in your house and teach you to play.....this book is for you. Learn some very useful techniques and anything else you need to know. I picked it up thinking it would be hard to understand, but its not too bad if you dedicate yourself. Even rowan liked it!!!!! Buy it today.........

not what i expected

when i looked over this book i was dissapointed. it is too short and i found most everything to be confusing and boring. there were no examples to help you understand and the explainations were not clear. I do not reccommend this book, instead check out Metal Lead Guitar by Troy Stetina, that book is alot better.

Superb Guitar Instruction.

If you can be disciplined enough to work through these teachings and are developed enough to comprehend whats being presented you will improve. Or I also think it would be a great book to have a teacher use for student lessons.

Satch's Secrets!

This book truly is an awesome instruction manual. Satch reveals many delightful info so that you (the developing guitarist) can play all the better. Each lesson is made so that you can use it in real-time situations and to better yourself- whether you want to increase speed, chord/scale vocab or even play more musically. This book is a must- Satch fan or not!
