my review
Well i think that the person that wrote the scores for this book cud of done alot better, for instance smoke on the water has alot of parts missing completely, i mean if you are going to do a book u mite as well do a good job of it. Anyway other than that its ok but dissapointing to c that alot is left out.

Deep Purple Review
I definetly recomend this book for anyone who loves deep purple. The transcription seems to be very accurate. I consider myself an advanced player and have been playing for a while and this is the best kind of music that can be played. I like to visually see the different styles of guitarists as well as keyboardists to try to learn from them...this book is a great teaching tool when it comes to that. However, i have found some things that i dislike about the book. I have noticed that some of the keyboard/organ solos are cut short or excluded from a few songs. and at times the sheet music is a little dificult to follow. but overall, i do recommend getting this book, it be for guitar, keyboard, bass, or drums...it will be a good buy.

Very Accurate Transcriptions
A very neat collection of classic Mark II Deep Purple hits accurately transcribed from the original studio recordings in easy-to-read separate scores for bass, keyboard, guitar, drums and vocals.

Guitar newcomers heaven
Very simple songs and great for guitar newcomers. The solos are the only difficult patches... Hace fun!

Great classic tunes!
This is also a keyboardist review. These are great songs for the rock keyboardist and are quite enjoyable. However, alone, the keyboard parts aren't all too exciting, but it's great to play with a band. Also, it is great for a beginning rock keyboardist because it shows you some of Jon Lord's greatest solos (Lazy, Highway Star, Woman From Tokyo, and more) and how to work keyboard parts into harder rocking songs. However, there are some parts left out (improvisions... 2nd and 3rd verses of Smoke on the Water... interlude after the guitar solo in Child in Time... ...I think that's it) and depending on your keyboard, some parts may be in the wrong octave. I used to play guitar and I must say the tab is pretty good, the bass is also very accurate, and the drums are pretty well transcribed. Overall, this is a great book for the Deep Purple or classic rock fan/band.

Nice study of the old classics.
Keyboardist review, I can't comment on the tab. Transcription seems accurate although the Lazy intro differs from the hal-leonard "greatest keyboard intros" book. The "intros" book is perfect. I don't understand why the difference since both are the same copyright. I wish it had a few newer songs, especially Burn. My Intermediate rating is for the notation: you'd better know how to read multi-part scores. Overall excellent study of the original early studio classics.
