great book
If you want a intermediate understanding on the notes, scales, and chords on the mandolin fretboard this book is for you. It has helped me be able to visulaize the scale and chord patterns. Its not overly packed with information that a beginner couldnt understand. I found it fairly easy...

NOW THEN! THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED.
This book was intimidating when I received it, (I am a rank beginner). But, after a little familiarization, its becoming a friendly tutor to where all the good stuff hides on the mandolin fretboard. I..LIKE IT AND CAN HONESTLY RECOMMEND IT, TO ANYONE.

Good exercises
Lots of great scale exercises and information about chord types. A very useful book to have and practice with to get comfortable with the frets and chord shapes. The layout is not my favorite, but that is more of a personal preference--the content is still excellent.

Very sound
This book provides real insight into important points of learning to play. Parts very challenging, but contains info I have not seen in other books. Groups about 13 chords early in book and once learned, they enhance playing skills. I am a beginner...stretching toward intermediate and found this with info...
