Freddie King (DVD). (Guitar Signature Licks DVD). By Freddie King. For guitar. Hal Leonard Guitar Signature Licks DVD. Blues and Instructional. Instructional video: DVD. Duration 54m. Published by Hal Leonard (HL.320352).
ISBN 0634051741. blues and Instructional. 5.3x7.5 inches.
The most virtuosic blues King, big bad Freddie was a spectacular guitarist as well as a first-rate singer and accomplished songwriter. As a transplanted Texan who moved to Chicago in the '50s, Freddie rubbed shoulders with the likes of Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and Magic Sam. Freddie's vast repertoire of blues classics offers cool hooks, hot solos, and foot-tapping rhythms for the contemporary electric guitarist. In this DVD, Host Duke Robillard (Roomful of Blues, Fabulous Thunderbirds) gives invaluable insights into the style of this legendary guitarist. He takes you through a select group of Freddie's greatest songs lick by lick, revealing the inner workings of this master musician. Rare performance footage is also included as a special bonus!

Not Bad For the Beginner Guitarist
You can definitely learn a few songs from this DVD which for the beginner guitarist is worth the price. I played the material on a computer with the capability to play at slow speed without losing to much sound quality. Otherwise, you’ll have to watch what he does and feel...

First Rate Freddie
Duke Robillard has taken the best of Freddie King's instrumentals and broken them down into an easily understood form. Duke takes the time to go over the more difficult sections and show the fingering and tempo. Great job!
