Helped me play better
The clean score, without later editorial additions, made it easier for me to understand Bach's intent.The physical structure of the book is a pleasure. The pages open and lie flat, unlike cheaper editions, and the solid paper is easy to write notes on with a pencil. I consider these editions...

An excellent Edition!
This is an excellent edition. Comprehensive and informative. The editor's notes at the beginning help provide valuable background information to the works and their composition. Useful for both teachersof intermediate/advanced students and performers alike.

A must for Bach admirers
Henle is definitely the authority on Bach. Bach's Suites are often overlooked on the switch from Inventions/Sinfonias to Preludes/Fugues, but the dances are very much worth playing. The suites have been edited for a playing style more appropriate for the harpsichord, so discretion is required when deciding when to use...
