Get This Book!

It includes almost all of Frank Sinatra's biggest hits and some less known. The songs vary in keys, so it is both a challenge and new opportunity to play the music. For those who sing, this is also a good choice of songs to sing!

Frank Sinatra Anthology

I thought this book was really a poor offering. I was looking for charts in the original Sinatra keys and that could be used for small group performances of Sinatra hits. The tunes are NOT in original keys, and so much of the phrasing and notation is absolutely NOT consistent with the original. I would NOT recommend this book to anyone of any calibre of professionalism. Waste of money. It'll be a bookend for my shelf that I'll NEVER use.

All Those Songs.......

This is a fun anthology to own, if you love Frank Sinatra. With its 100 songs (yes, 100), it's hard to think of any of Frank's hits that are missing. In addition, there are 10 pages of pictures and a short biography. It's a real pleasure to turn the pages, play half-forgotten melodies and recall the romantic lyrics of the Sinatra era.

Not Useful on Gigs

First the good things - the chords, notes and tabs are accurate and very easy to read. The verses are also a great touch, as fake books never provide this. However, I was hoping this book would be a useful for a gigging singer (me) to use to give to an accompanist on the bandstand. It's not, which is why I'm a bit disappointed. Perhaps in the song index, the key could be listed for each song. That way the purchaser would know that almost none of these songs are in keys that Frank performed them in. Otherwise, why call it a Sinatra Anthology? For instance, Fly Me to The Moon is written in Eb, and Frank never ever performed it in that key. Same for "Crush on You," notated in Bb for this book. That's an unsingable key for a male vocalist. Frank always did it in F. This would be a great book if they'd taken the time to transpose to Sinatra-esque keys (recognizing that songs were moved lower as he grew older).

Great Music From Blue Eyes

I bought this anthology for one of my voice students. The accompanying music is sometimes difficult; however, it adds to the vocal lines. There were added introductions that I have not heard in the recordings that Frank Sinatra did. Good anthology for the Sinatra fan.

Great Collection

This anthology contains all the very best standards ever written. Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, Jule Styne, Harold Arlen, etc. All the songs that are favorites over the years, sung not just by Sinatra, but by others as well. You will love this collection!

Pedal Harmony Suggestions

I was glad to see some alternate pedal notations. Also, I enjoyed the verses which almost nobody publishes in "book form" anymore.

Very Good Collection

As a jazz pianist and lover of Sinatra and his standards, I am pleased to see the introductions to the songs, which lead sheets usually leave out. The chord symbols are accurate. The songs are from the original sheet music and the arrangements therefore are quite simple. There are about 7 or 8 songs that shouldn't be there, and some 10 that should be. E.g. would you swap "Cycles" for "Angel Eyes"? "Talk To Me" for "Violets For Your Furs"? Altogether though a very good compilation and well worth the price. Nicely bound but I would prefer ring binding so that the book lies flat on the piano.

Frank Sinatra Anthology

Easy to use. The chords are, for the most part accurate or will put you in the ballpark, i.e. adding or droping a note.

Sinatra's best

Playing Piano since 1945 - for fun. Sinatra and his songs have always been a favourite of mine. I'm 70 now and remember most of it like yesterday. Am very happy in my older years that I had the opportunity of hearing and playing such good music

Sinatra's music lives on in my piano bench.

He sang only the good stuff and in musical keys that are in the range of most singers, professional or recreational.

A Great Buy

If you want a full representation of Sinatra's best, this is the answer. As a singer and pianist, this book is a real bargain and I am enjoying it thoroughly.
