Mozart Flute Concertos

I purchased this collection as a gift for a friend of mine who, like myself, also plays the flute. She was delighted with it.

from a teachers perspective

This is a "must have" for flute students as it is standard rep. and can be someties required and/or expected for auditions, etc. If someone thinks this is beginning repertoire, they are either a prodigy or are accidentally rating the wrong book. These pieces are not only challenging technically, they can be a great opportunity for experimentation with expression and articulation once mastered. Regardless of the "level", the first one in the book is standard college freshman repertoire.

these are easy and typical for a mozart

I do not find these concertos to be challenging. I have played for less than a year and can easily sight read them. The other commentors on this piece that rated them as being intermediate-advanced were mistaken. Even for a beginning flutist, these are relatively easy pieces; however, they are, as with most of Mozart's works, respectable.

Flutists have to be able to play these

These pieces are a pretty standard part of a flutist's repertoire. The nice thing about these concertos is that even though they're challenging, they're not impossible to play. Mozart's pieces also make sense (your fingers will know how to play this relatively quickly). The hard part of all of these pieces is being able to do the flutey stuff that is appropriate to the period.

Best of flute music

If you love Mozart as I do, you'll love these. Up to speed and played correctly, these are very advanced and beautiful.

Very fun!!!!!!

I have only been playing for two years but I am fairly advanced for my age. I love all the concertos in this selection. I recomend three to five years of playing experience. It took me three weaks to perfect.

Excellent songs!!!

I highly recommend this book!! It is pretty hard to play up to tempo, though. I recommend at least three to four years playing experience, but it is definitely worth it . Some people may recognize the third movement of Concerto No. 2. This is certainly a good buy.
