This book contains Schumann's simplest piano compositions arranged in approximate order of difficulty. Fourteen selections are presented in the original forms, including the familiar "Träumerei," "Happy Farmer," "Melody" and "Cradle Song." Although brief, these musical miniatures are perfectly unified and highly original works in the Romantic style. Footnotes compare the different editions consulted in editing the volume.
