Fire Dance by David Shaffer. Concert band. Young Concert Band. Command Series. Audio recording available separately (items CL.WFR317 & CL.WFR321). Grade 2.5. Score and set of parts. Composed 2001. Duration 4 minutes, 16 seconds. Published by C.L. Barnhouse (CL.011-3157-00).

Big, bold and full of percussion, this exotic high energy Shaffer composition is sure to be a huge favorite with developing bands. Lots of extra percussion parts to keep even the largest drum section involved. Includes a slow "mysterioso" section providing a contrast to the energetic nature.

Amazing Song

This is one of the best songs ever. We play it in my advanced band class. It is fun to practice. Also all the instruments blended together sounds amazing.

Wow, EXCITING

Our middle school band is practicing it now. I play a b flat clarinet and I MUST play a sharp to get one of the notes right in the song. I loved that I was nearly double-jointed after playing this song. I love it forever and ever and EVER!
