Many Great Arrangments!
Hanson offers all of the main themes from The Wizard of Oz and even some of the less significant ones like "Coroner's Song". Some of the pieces in this book will find their spot among my permanent repertoire. The arrangements are not for the absolute beginner and can challenge an intermediate classical guitarist. The arrangements were created from the original scores from the movie but do contain some of Hanson's own creative expression. I really enjoy this book.

Very nice very cool
At first it was a little hard to play (lots of bar chords) and the arrangments are played on a steel string, and I was looking for arrangments for nylon string guitar. But I think it's worth the price just for "Over The Rainbow" a nice study in harmonics. Buy it, it will sure strengthen those fingers.

Fingerstyle Wizard Is Just Fun
Fingerstyle Wizard is just a delightfully fun song book! Mark Hanson’s arrangements are excellent. If I Only Had A Brain and Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead are my favorites. The musical echo of Follow The Yellow Brick Road appears in several of the songs. A flashy Right-Hand-Hammer-On in the Lullaby League will fool listeners of the CD and they’ll cry “That can’t be done, he dubbed it”. Ringing open strings are damped naturally with smooth transitions of the left hand fingerings. The music contains dissonance notes that are warmly absorbed with the melody. The book comes in both standard music notation and tablature. The standard notation might be deficient for some pieces up the neck of the guitar but the tablature written parallel to the standard notation resolves that problem. I find myself drifting back and forth between the tablature and standard notation. The difficulty ranges from easy to difficult. The CD is permanent part of my music library.
