Fun!

I like these selections. The variety is nice and they are simple enough to allow me to focus on my sound quality.

Review

Great songs, thoroughly enjoy playing them and the book is worth it just for that. The CD is simply awful. Could of been an amazing combination but can now at best be described as great.

Fantastic

A great collection of wonderful themes from movies. My beginner students love this book from 6 months learning and onwards. Most are quite easy and the accommpaniment CD encourages practise. Highly recommend.

never ending Fun

This was the first book on music I bought, and have never wanted another since though the music isn't difficult it is such timeless music that I can never grow tired of it. and even better there is a disk to tell you how to play the music as well. All around this is one of the best musical collections I have ever been so lucky as to play.

CD was a big disappointment

The sheet music itself is fine, but I was horribly disappointed with the CD. I expected the CD to be nicely orchestrated like the actual movie themes. Instead they are very jivy versions - NOT what I expected or wanted. In the past, we have purchased other pieces for flute (Lord of the Rings) that had the soundtrack-type orchestration so this was a bit of a surprise. I am leary of making another purchase without knowing what the music is like. Some may be fine with the music style, but this CD was a waste of money for me.

Fun!

I purchased this book for my 12 year old grandson who is in his second year on the trumpet. He jumped up from the table and pumped his arms and raced to get his trumpet to try out the songs. We were able to recognize the theme to Jurassic Park on his first try! He loves this movie music. Some of them are a little challenging, but he is keeping at it. Makes getting him to practice each day for the school band much easier!!

For the Beginner

As an Intermediate/Advanced trumpet player, I wish there was a more accurate description of this accompaniment project. It's obviously for a Beginner. With no samples (printed or audible) I purchased this blind and was disappointed to find that it is not what I was hoping for. Lesson Learned: In the future, I will not purchase anything that I cannot see and hear a sample of.

Playing songs from Movies is cool

I really like this book because it's fun playing songs from movies I know. I would recommend this book to other beginner trumpet players.

The perfect book

It was a great book for personal practice, easy to play. I wish it could have been a little bigger, but, all is well.

I play in a community band and during the summer I sometimes get a bit lazy to practice. This books makes it fun! I am going to buy more.

Better for intermediate level

The themes were pretty good. As an advanced student, playing trumpet for five years, these songs were fairly easy to me. I would have to say that the Mission:Impossible Theme may be a bit harder for a begginer, but the rest of the songs are great for intermediate level students.

Popular with young students

Having tried several "popular" CD books with my students, I still come back to this book. It has some easy arrangements but also more challenging e.g.Mission Impossible, Raiders. The backing tracks are good quality with a good beat so easy to follow.

A bit disappointing

The themes were mostly OK but only a few were really impressive so far as a good audience piece to play for others.

Retired music lover . . .

I'm in early retirement and am attempting to regain some of my trumpet playing skills from my high school/college days. I would like to join the community band in our town, but am badly out of shape. These books with play-a-long CD are at a perfect level for me. It's difficult to find sheet music of this quality in my local music stores. I will definitely order more. Thanks

To easy

a writer can write the same piece many different ways to increase the difficulty and make it sound more interesting/enthralling. I found this to be too easy, i played it in my first year playing trumpet, i'm now in 5th, and haven't found anything comprable with higher skill level

A Great Book! (and I give it 4.5 Stars)

MAN!,This one blew me away. I could'nt wait till I got home from the music store. I poped the CD into my pimpin' stereo system and then BOOM! A bunch of synthesized music. I was expecting a actual band to be playing but I guess thats what your going to get. Either than that that was the only disapointment I had. It has begginer, intermediate, and some intermediate/advanced all mixed in. Because of this You can start off with a simple song (Appollo 13), then a more compex song (Forrest Gump), then to some cool songs! (Raiders March, Mission Impossble) I highly recomend it to kids (since im a kid myself) and to band teachers everywhere. Kids dont want to play Prelude and Fuge the fist year into band. They want to learn Movie and TV themes and cool songs. With this in mind go buy it NOW! (and its a good price to!)

Fun Filled Book for a Child

This book is very fun for a kid because it has a variety of music themes such as "Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, Chariots of Fire," and much more.
