Fantasie a Tre Voci - Score by Giovanni Bassano (1558-1617). For lyra viol, tenor viol, bass viol/3 violins; or SAT recorders. String Trios, Recorder Trios. Italian Instrumental Music of the Renaissance. Score. Published by London Pro Musica (MM.LPMIM11).

Giovanni Bassano (c.1558 - c.1617) was an Italian Venetian School composer and cornettist of the late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. He was a key figure in the development of the instrumental ensemble at St. Mark's basilica, and left a detailed book on instrumental ornamentation, which is a rich resource for research in contemporary performance practice. It is not known if he was related to Anthony Bassano a member of a well-known Venetian family of musicians. These pieces are suitable for any relatively quiet instruments, such as the violin famil, viols and recorders.

Consistent, pleasant, ideal for background.

I do not consider this material sufficient melodic to be concert-worthy in serious settings. However, it's LOVELY as background music for gigging.
